What's the best musical you've seen at the theatre and why?

Wicked! for me. It was absolutely amazing; I can't get over how spectacular it was. :)

Starlight Express is my all-time favourite, but the best musical I've ever seen - the closest to perfect - was Tanz der Vampire, in Germany. Every part of it, every aspect, was stunning. Still is, I daresay - if you can, see it!

I love Chicago, and Les Mis I couldn't choose between the two, any musical can capture me pretty much though. Just the atmosphere of being in the theatre with a love orchestra is enough to give me butterflys in tummy!!

I once saw Sleeping Beauty at the "Teatro Colon" in Argentina. Now I don't know if it was the theater or the play that made it great but it was amazing!!! And I got to sit in one of those little booths, to cool for words!!!

I sore Cats when i was like 5 and it was one of those momets in life that i just know I'm NEVER going to forget. It was phenomenal.

I really like blood brothers aswell.

My favorite musical is 42nd Street.

My favorite soundtracks are Aida, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Beauty & the Beast.

My favorite show that I've seen on Broadway is Curtains or Wicked.

The sound of music and Annie.

I love the sound of music because everything 'flows', the actors/actresses were passionate about the production and you could realise that by the way they performed.

I love Annie because when you first watch it, it can be quite a cliffhanger, the sounds are interesting and can be easily remembered - if you enjoy singing (but can't), just like me!

I saw them both at the theatre around 15 years ago.

The DVDs just aren't the same!

I quite like Blood Brothers - I love all the superstition in the plot line and then the songs are catchy.

Wicked is spectacular though

Sweeny Todd - seen the film and loved it, technicaly counts even if i havnt seen it on stage I think....that would be my favourite on second thoughts.

I am a big fan of "The Phantom of the Opera" but the one musical I regard as the best I have seen, would be "les Miserables"

sweeney todd- the music is incredible, i love the idea of a horror musical that still has a great storyline

wicked- amazing set and the music was really good

Les Mis- the storyline and rotating part of the set was amazing. the songs were good too

Sweeney Todd. The movie positively botched it, but the actual play is SO amazing, and so funny. I advise you listen to the soundtrack because it's spectacular.

Awaiting to see Wicked in VIP seats next month... Haven't seen it yet. Sigh... "Some things I cannot change... But 'til I try I'll never know!"

:P Anyway, aside from memorizing the Wicked soundtrack, I would have to say the greatest musical FILM I've seen would be Rent!

The greatest I've seen live would be a toss-up between Spamalot and Phantom of The Opera. Spanalot rocked because we got our seats upgraded from the 22nd to the 8th row randomly, but Phantom's seats were shocking and there were babies crying and someone even answered their phone during the act 1 finale :@
