I'm a pretty smart kid, though i also spend a lot of time doing sports. Sometimes i fail tests, and i consider that i should give up the sport and concerntrate on studying academically only.

  1. It sounds like you know your answer already.  Use some reality therapy.  Where do you want to be and what do you want to be doing 10, even 20, years from now?  Then look at what you are doing now and ask yourself if what you are doing is helping you reach the goals. One thing to consider... a compromise of sorts... are you exceptionally taleted on a sport? I mean seriously good, with professional potential?  If so, concentrate on that one sport, and put the others aside for now so that you have more time for your schoolwork. You may be good enough in that sport to get a scholarship.  If you are just good, but not exceptional, you may want to play enough sports with friends or rec league to get your sports "fix" and exercise, but focus more on school work.

Either way, I applaud that you are thinking about this seriously.  With the school year coming up, this could be a good time to try that experiment for a year.  See what happens.  Good luck!

  2. Okay, well, I'm glad you know what you should probably do. So, instead of quitting everything, how about you just try studying more and doing sports stuff a bit less? I mean, if you like it, you shouldn't have to quit everything.

    Good luck!
