I don't know why people try to quantify bull markets and bear markets.  Averages obviously aren't correct when there is a high standard deviation like the market employs.

Personally, I'm neutral.  We have seen a double and I believe a triple bottom in the Russell 2000, the Nasdaq I believe has made a double, but the S&P still made new lows.  Seems like a bullish sign to me, along with the technical analysis factors of the S&P, but I would still expect a consolidation or attempt at a new bottom with the S&P before it starts going up and up.

I really couldn't care less about the long term market right now though.  I'm a trader.

Bear markets usually last 2-4 years. This one started in October 2007. So I think we still have a few years to go.

All 26 times there have been 300 point moves up in the market, they have ALWAYS been in a bear market.  We had two last week.

It is a bullish market. we will be knowing this clearly on 13 of this month.

We're in a bear market. There is no one out there that knows anything about finance that thinks this is a bull market.
