  1. his record is 13-0 for a reason...because he is either better than the guys he is fighting or smarter...

  2. DOnt' care what anybody says-he's undefeated and  he's fought some "pretty good" opponents (Franklin, BJ, Sokodjou, Ortiz)..he's an accurate striker and a true martial artist.  If people can win fights just by running away, dont' you think more fighters would employ that strategy?  I'm a sprinter-does that mean if i step in the cage and just run, I can amass an undefeated record?  SWEET!!! All that matters at the end of the day is how many W's you have on your record.  He's my favorite fighter and when he becomes light heavyweight champion, you haters will have a different opinion on him.

  3. He wins because he can't be touched. You aren't looking for opinions you are looking for people to agree with yours. He doesn't win by spectacular fashion, but he is skilled in every aspect of the game. People say he needs to be more aggressive but I disagree. Terry Martin versus James Irvin Terry Martin is aggressive the entire first round, rushes in at the start of the second and he wakes up on the canvas being told how he lost. Lyoto displays excellent patience and lands most of his strikes and stays in control through out the fight without risking gasing. What is wrong about that?

  4. he is probably the most boring fighter ever i aint saying he aint good cause i saw how he knocked out rich franklin it was cool but he is boring

  5. man alive six months ago this guy was the epitamy of what nobody wanted to see and know it all changed around. I like him but still find him boring. I get excited to see him fight then I cheer when he wins then I'm like why do I care.

  6. I think he is very skilled and elusive, however his avoidance of exchanges is frustrating to watch, because I know he can finish a fight, yet he seems content to take the cautious route. You can still fight "smart" and be exciting, a la forrest griffin in his last few fights. If Machida were more aggressive and look to finish fights more I think he would gain more acceptance as a possible LHW champion.

  7. he wins by being very defensive and using basically a point karate approach to the fight, he lands a kick and moves away to not get hit. He is a very skilled fighter and is pretty good on the ground as well, and no one has yet found away to deal with the combination of his skill set and the way he uses it.

All that being said I do think he is boring and IMO MMA should be about finishing the fight, not gaining points. Unfortuanately it is a sport and a point system seems to be needed to determine the winner on many occasions.

So all in all I respect him as a very skilled martial artist, but I do think he is boring and would love to see someone like Wandy and Anderson Silva show him the difference between scoring points and putting people out.

  8. he had some exciting moves against tito ortiz. I respect machida. He dosent talk trash and is a true martial artist. His style is very unorthodox and slow because of his karate. In shotokan, they teach you the "direct" route and look for a one hit kill. That is what machida likes to do. All fighters have holes in their gameplan, and machida finds it.

  9. his punches and kicks connect, he dose not get hit alot and dose not get taken down alot he fights very technically but i think he still deserves every win he gets

  10. He's the epitome of 'stick and move' in MMA. He's skilled and technical. If you can appreciate that, you may enjoy watching him. If not, you'll find him boring.

  11. I think MMA needs more guys like him.  I don't think he's boring at all.

I think guys that can only throw a round kick to the inner/outer thigh and then lay on eachother with low level jiu-jitsu are boring.

I can appreciate a technical, top shelf grappling match, but I'm sick of "tough guys" with little technical skill win matches.

  12. I think he is a good fighter. He is just different.

  13. I like the guy. He has a sophisticated style that few fans can appreciate. But make no mistake about it. He is good! Maybe the future UFC lightweight champ!!

  14. he beat tito ortiz that mean somthing

  15. best fighter to watch ,

great strategist , fights bigger people than he

and methodically destroyes them , even when bj

balloned up he beat him , instead of whos next ?

its whos left ?after he wins the belt maybe he can fight

fedor at a catch weight (fedor doesnt cut , right?)

  16. Hes 13-0 with 8 decision wins!!! He's the king of decisions, his striking is very boring to watch, he runs from exchanges,he does just enough to win his fights by decisions. He needs to be more aggresive in trying to finish fights and not just by points. Machida vs Griffen will be one of the most boring fights of the year, and if he wins he'll get booed out of the arena, especialy if he makes Forrest chase him around the cage all night.
