What's your opinion on having school year round?

Question

In some areas, the long summer break has been eliminated in favor of having more frequent shorter breaks throughout the school year. Basically, having the same number of school days each year but instead of having one long summer break, taking that same amount of time and breaking it up into sporadic breaks throughout the school year: a week here, 4 days there, etc. I know some people, kids and parents alike, like the idea but others don't. Is this done in your area? If so, do you like it? If not, do you wish it was? What do you think are the pros and cons and which outweighs the other?

eww i think i would hate it. i love having all summer off. my school system doesn't have all year round school. i can't really think of many pros to it. but some cons would be that everytime you take like a week break or however long it is you sort of forget all the stuff you were learning. like spring break i forget everything. there would be way to much time reviewing. another thing is that in the summer you are so carefree and i love it. with short breaks you always have the thought that school is coming soon...like at the end of summer. i would really hate having school year round. but thats just my opinion.

Personally i'm against it because i go to summer camp during summer break for seven weeks. i love it and i wouldn't want the break to be eliminated.
