the school's got a great curriculum, but they have all grades 1 to 4 students in one class (total of 16 students). so kids from ages 7 to 12 join in group dynamics, lab work, and gym. each kid would go to individual cubes for his or her appropriate level work sheets though. is this set-up any good or bad?

  1. Our middle school was set up so that we had classes at different levels, and we rotated classes based on our respective levels. There were generic classes that we all had together, such as gym, band and so forth, but the reading/writing and math classes were broke out by ability. It worked well for most students, as they were with an appropriate ability and intellectual group. The set up you described doesn't sound all that different.
