  1. only take them if you are willing to practice what they tell you. and practice consistently- that is the only way to improve.

  2. I think private lessons are the best thing, it gives you the personal attention of the instructor. Outdoor on the driving range is the best out door lessons to get. Having lessons on the course during the round will slow down play. Indoor lessons are the most interesting thing I have seen. Golftec has a great system they use. You are connected to a harness that measures all your bio mechanics, and video tapes you at 2 angles. This gives the instructor multiple different ways to help your swing, and the instructor emails you person lessons for you to try at home.

  3. Obviously, private lessons would be much better since you would get individual attention. Of course, they are also more expensive.

If you're a very beginnger, group lessons might be OK. Otherwise, go private.

Most people will probably do better on a driving range. This will let you try the same shots over and over. It will also give the pro more time to explain things to you.

If you're a low-handicap player (10 or less, I would say), it might be good to have a playing lesson with a pro. This way the pro can give you pointers on course management and strategy.

The only factor in deciding between indoor and outdoor is the weather. If it's really cold or rainy, go indoors. Otherwise, stay outdoors, because that's where you play golf.

  4. I would definitely NOT go the Group route.  Secondly, I would start on the range with a Pro and then work your way up after a few lessons to taking lessons from the same pro on the course.  Also, ask and see if they offer video aid, or computer aid or at least ask if while on the range you can use your own camcorder on a tri-pod and get shots from behind you as well as facing you (not in front of you :-)

This should help, if so, would be ever so grateful for a few points tossed my way  :-)

  5. if i was you i would just do a private it might caust alil more but you having someone helping yopu who is a good player and youll get more attention on your skills and how to improve.....

  6. Private lessons are the best for sure.  And sometimes they are a better value as well when you consider the amount of one on one time you get with each.

  7. If you are just starting out then group lessons would help you get some basics and they are the least expensive.  If you have been playing for awhile and want to improve then private lessons would be better.  I would always recommend outdoors at a driving range for both so you can hit real golf balls and see the ball flight and result of your shots.  Playing lesson on the course are more for learning course management at later stages of your development.

  8. I only take private so i can smoke during the lesson while they talk.

  9. Go to a golf school where you can spend 3-4 days with your PGA Professional and be able to understand completely what YOU need to work on.

  10. I want to take lessons but some are more pricey than others.  GolfTec is the lesson I was going to take but its really expensive at the moment.

  11. I don't believe in lessons... I am a self-taught player with a 10 handicap... go get some instruction books from the library and you might be able to do the same... but if you can afford them and understand them lessons might be for you... (a lot of information to take in in a short amount of time) with books, you can take your time and learn at your own pace!!!

  12. Hi,

Simple - go private. Trust me it will be money well spent.

And go to the range as often as you can.

  13. That all depends at what level you are at..   are you  thinking of taking up the game?  beginner?   weekend? advanced?  I would recommend differently for each.

I will say this much..   you cant play the game until you learn how  to hit the ball.   if you try to play the game before you learn to hit the ball you will not enjoy the game at all.

  14. don't go to the group i would do private! outdoor and full course you can go to the driving range on your free time!

    hope this helped!
