i think it's in poor taste.

so do people go to journalism schools and learn so much to be called intellectuals and they insult other ethnicities and religions in such blunt and outrageous way ?

when you see those ppl doing things like that for whatever purpose you can't help but think what's left for those whom we call ignorants ?

  1. Nobody said anything about all the satire on G.W. Bush especially during a time of war.

So I see the New Yorker cover and I think nothing about it. Others look at it like "Oh no! I can't believe they are picking on the mesiah!!!"

  2. I think it was a horrible thing to do. Obama is facing a very hard road, as it is evident that rasicm is alive and well. It was also in very poor taste of the artist who did the portrait in the first place. Obama seems like such an intelligent young man full of ideas, in some ways he reminds me of president Kennedy. It's sad what he is up against.

  3. There is nothing wrong with it; Its called satire people. Hussein Obama is being to sensitive about it. The new Yorker is a liberal magazine, and the fact the he takes this as offensive is that maybe its funny because there is some truth to it.

His Reverend and spiritual adviser said “god d**n America”, that’s the flag burning in the fire place. Both he and his wife had known people who have been associated with terrorist cells.

    I find this very funny.

  4. It is too near the truth to be funny.  That causes outrage.

  5. It’s tasteless. The New Yorker knew it was controversial and did it to hopefully stir up publicity good or bad. Newspapers are going down in sales due to Internet. The heard the New York Daily News had a big layoff and I heard the New Your Post is suffering also.

  6. Those who are crying racism over the cover piece are aware that it is satire, correct?  It's an example of what it would look like if all the various (idiotic) theories about Obama were true.

The New Yorker isn't trying to say that those things are true.

  7. This episode clearly demonstrates the ever-growing and well oiled anti-Muslim propaganda machine dedicated to benefit Israel in a sickening manner.

  8. It's no more poor taste than the cartoons and rude remarks our sitting president has had to endure after our nation was attacked and thousand lost their lives on 9/11. If the going gets too tough..

Obama should get going I think. That's my take on the whole thing.

  9. i think that its so sad that in this day and age that sort of thing is still going on in such a blatantly disrespectful and public way. its extremely racist and it shows we haven't come that far

  10. The cover had nothing to do with the article.  If it was relevant,  well than freedom of speech on the side of open discussion about peoples backward ways and unfounded fears.

Seeing as how unfortunately it was not this cover is blatant profiteering.  The new yorker wants to make money with eye catching insanity.  If your wrong and you know it you do it any way.  All of the pundits will talk about.  All of the radio hosts will rant about it.  All of the yahoo answers bunch and serial bloggers will jump on the band wagon.  Leading to the curiosity of Joe Public, who will buy it just to see what all the hoop-la is about.
