Question:

What's your view on School s*x Clinics?

I was reading an article recently about s*x Clinics in schools. Contraception is given out freely, all without parental consent or knowledge. What is your view on this?

I can see both sides. One, that it is good to promote safe s*x and to teach kids about awareness of STIs etc. However, I can also see the side that most parents whose child (say who was fifteen) had visited a clinic and gotten free contraception, would be horrified. Especially that the school was giving them it.

Your view?

  1. they're going to do it anyway so we might as well have them protected and educated!

as for parents not being told it's the only way they'll attend the clinic!

i do however think it shouldn't be in the school rather near the school. like one for every area.

  2. eh cant change the fact that teens are stupid so i guess they r cool

  3. I think the clinics are GREAT! Like it or not, teens ARE going to have s*x. By taking contraceptives and resources away from them, that's not going to make them stop. It's just going to make them have unprotected s*x.

  4. i live in the uk in scotland they dont have that here they just have a family clinic were you can go but i think that it should come here i think it might bring young pregnancy down cause they might be scared to go to places ;like that or lazy to make appointment and go

  5. i think it shouldnt be put into schools. its not up to them to throw around free condoms. i learned about all that stuff when i was 11 from my school and i just think it makes a young person want to do things they shouldnt do at such a young age. how many children do you see these days with their own children. its sickning.its up to the parents to tell them about it when they think its time. pretty soon you ll start hearing about s*x education in grade 1 already.

  6. I can see both sides also and i think as a student perhpas it would be good to get advice privately and seek contrception privately but i think if your old enough to have s*x your should be old enough to buy condoms and go on the pill and i think the fact it is done behind the parents back is also wrong so yeh i can see both sides.

  7. well watch i think it is good to have the clinics. i've never heard of the s*x clinics at school but i've heard of planned parenthood! i think they are great. because ok alot of teens are having s*x, infact alot of girls are getting pregnant! i mean their lives are going to be way harder with a kid! specially when they dotn recieve alot of support. but with the clinics it is easier to reduce the teen pregnancy rate because you can get the morning after pills and condoms and other kind of birth control. about the whole parent issue i think yeah the parent will be horrified but o think they would be happy to know they wont be having a pregnant child

  8. I think it's a personal issue. I don't think schools should be that involved in our students personal lives. School is for getting an education. I think s*x education should teach teenagers how to put on a condom and how to practice safe s*x.

  9. One of the best ideas to come around in a long time.  Some people say it isn't the schools place, but lots of parents are not stepping up to the plate and SOMEONE needs to.

  10. there are very few parents who are talking to their kids about these things tho.  Someone needs to educate teens about the risks.

Ive seen parents who just deny that their kids are interested in that thing..  they beleive their child is innocent and would "never do that".

STDs and teen pregnancy are on the rise.  Something needs to be done to help control it.  Kids are going to have s*x anyways, regardless of if these services are available or not.  Its best to at least arm them with education and protection.

Majority of the kids who use such services are those who have those type of parents.  The kids who talk to their parents about s*x ussually go to their parents for birth control.
