Question:

What's your view on global warming?

Ok,so firstly I would like to know:Do you know what Global Warming is and do you belive it is happening?

Next I wonder is: do you give a d**n about it?

If so what do you do to slow it down(because it's too late to stop it ;[ )

What do you think will happen when all the petrol resourses end,the north pole and south pole melt and switch?( do you think people will survive)

Another thing I wonder is: do you think we'll manage to go to space and live there?

If so then where?(I suggest the sattelite Europe)

Last question is: how much time do you think the planet has until the end of resourses ,the ice melts, etc.

Many thanks for those who answered and for those who only read I have only read I have only one suggestion:think about global warming and about yourselves trying to do something about it.

  1. OF course i believe its happening, i devloped asthmaa over it! The air is polluted! many much more ppl is dying cuz of it! why cant we all preserve some energy and stopped running cars so that future generatioan can have a few more years to life. -And If  global warming isnt happening, then its not bad to conserve water and stuff

  2. I know what the theory of global warming states.  I don't believe it is capable of ever happening.

So, I don't give a d**n about it other than to promote the truth.

This talk about the polar ice caps melting is utter rubbish.  What do you mean by switch?  If you refer to the polarity, that's impossible!  Any scientist who promotes junk like this has serious integrity problems.  But no doubt there are a few out there....

  3. Global warming is the consistent increase in the planet's average temperature.  I know it's happening.  I'm also convinced that humans are the main cause, for reasons explained in the link below.

    http://greenhome.huddler.com/wiki/global...

What I do to slow it down is make my personal carbon footprint as small as possible.  I got a Prius and an electric moped.  I commute to work on either the moped or bicycle.  I made my house energy efficient, so now it uses less than one-third the national average household energy consumption.  I also support politicians who make global warming a top priority, and try to educate people on the subject when I can (for example here on YA).

I think our fate depends on our actions over the next few years and decades.  If we manage to decrease our greenhouse gas emissions sufficiently (scientists recommend 80% worldwide reduction by 2050), humans will be fine.  If we fail and the planet reaches a tipping point where global warming accelerates beyond our control, then we're in for a rough ride, to say the least.

No, I don't think we'll manage to inhabit another planet.  We haven't even sent humans past the moon yet, and there are over 6 billion of us on Earth.  There's no way we'll be able to send that many people to another habitable planet for a long, long, long time.  We don't have the technology or the resources.

I think humans will be able to live on Earth for a long time if we learn to live sustainably.  We have to stop doing so much damage to the environment, but if we can adapt our lifestyle, we'll be fine.

  4. It's not REAL, people!

Basically, the Earth is going through a natural cycle of heating up and cooling down.

Scientists think we're polluting a lot, but we've been polluting for centuries!

Why does everyone think global warming exists?!?!?!?

That's what I want to know.

  5. 1)  Global warming is happining because we are coming out of an Ice Age, its been happining for a few million years, nothing we can do about it.

    2) No I don't care about it, read above and I dont want to be part of the Global Warming Scam

    3)Same as above

4)It wont happen for a few thousand years at least, I wont be alive when that happens so I dont care, besides people as a whole have survived worse

5)Possible but it will require oil to get there(if not for gas at least for the plastic O rings that are famous for failing.

    6) Depends on how people use them, Timber that has been cut needs to be replanted, Although we have over another 100 years of oil in Anwar and in Shale other power options need to be seriously looked into not just squiggly bulbs and hybrids

  6. Global Warming is a scam and U bought it. The green house gas that causes it is some very bad math. It is not there go measure it. The ice melting causing the flooding ,do this test and U will know that it is a lie... Fill a glass with ice ,now fill the rest till it is almost running out. Now watch it and tell me how much runs out. None as ice occupies less space than the water. The ice melting in Gore's movie was stolen from another movie and the Sene  were computer generated.

  7. My guess?     There's probably a nugget of truth to AGW - - on some level we must contribute.   However we were due for a warming after the LIA, and the total warming to date is only about 1.3 degrees F.     It's been hotter when CO2 levels were lower, there are countless factors that go into the climate that are not understood, including whatever caused the last similar warm period (whether or not you cling to the notion that the MWP was 0.2 degrees C cooler than today, it was undeniably a two-centuries-long period of temperatures similar to today's).    The polar ice caps are melting - and they've been melting for 12,000 years.    The sea level is rising - and it's been rising for 12,000 years.    When the first Americans came here on a land bridge from Siberia to Alaska, the polar ice caps covered Cooperstown, NY.

To analogize, if the rhetoric sounds like it's about someone drinking a quart of Jack Daniels every night, the reality is we're having a bottle of beer a few nights a week.

  8. It is a worldwide scam.  Perhaps the biggest con ever put on.

The IPCC report has repeatedly been shown to be extremely faulty.  So much so, that most of the reputable scientists who had their name (without their intention) on the IPCC report have had to sue to have it removed.  (look it up)

It has been a trend recently that the majority of scientists are leaning towards viewing Global Warming as a scam by the extreme left and environMENTALists.

BTW... the Globe has not warmed even a fraction of a degree in 10 years.

It was people like Bob above that suggested to sprinkle to polar ice caps with soot, to help the globe warm back in the 70's (per the Time magazine article) due to the Global Cooling crisis....idiots...

  9. I do know what global warming is and it is happening. I do give a d**n about is because is will cause many problems in the future (for example drought). Many things can be done to slow it down like using more efficient appliances, cars, and light bulbs ect. I don't think we will ever more to space. I is much essyer to fix earth then it would be to move to another planet.

  10. Global warming is a natural climatic change the Earth encounters every thousand or so years, true.  But civilized mankind and our use of electricity, petro gas vehicles, industrial pollutants and other emissions have accelerated this natural shift to damaging levels.

World governments 40 years ago were warned of thie epic event.....and they didn't give a d**n.  I mean: why should they???  It's not THEIR problem; they're going to die off way before global warming effects get felt---and most of them have done just that.  So it's OUR problem NOW.

Petro resources dry up?  I don't think so--our problem(s) there are simply a result of a marriage of criminal greed and politics.  Solving THAT problem is simply to go after the white collar thugs causing that mess.  That's in the works now--and they can't buy off the people coming after them.

Global warming's effects NOW are killing people!  Scores of thousands--epic numbers--will die by time the North and South polar ice regions completely disappear.

Human habitation in space is at least 60 years off; we don't have that kind of time.  Survivors by then will likely inhabit several Moon bases and habitats on Mars......maybe.

The goal overall is to REDUCE HEAT and slow down glacier melting.  If EVERY living person on the planet made successful efforts outlined in global warming prevention websites----we can begin heat reversal towards normal levels in less than 22 months.  Otherwise, ignore global warming--do nothing--and watch the world suffer epically in about 25 to 37 years time.

You can raise h**l to the government---but all we need is common people to rethink lifestyles and make these "going green" efforts to make a huge impact on lessening global warming effects.

  11. Real, mostly cause by us.

This is science and what counts is the data, not people's intuition.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)

    Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

    http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Ima...

    http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/wg1-report....

    summarized at:

    http://www.ipcc.ch/pdf/assessment-report...

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

    http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/a...

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu...

EVERY major scientific organization has issued an official statement that this is real, and mostly caused by us.  The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.

  12. well some of it is fake but most of it is real!

omg yes i do care about!

yeah it takes a lot to stop it!i try to do a lot for it!

pft well new york will be under water if ice burgs melt!

well mars people think that it has second life on it..but not many people can live on it because a space rocket can only go to space and back.and it would cost a lot of money if so!

and we would have to bring water that probably not work!and food and remake life!way to much!well thats hard to think asbout....maybe just maybe 50 to 100 years..i may be a wayy off...but thats wat i think!

  13. Okay, I'll answer each one of your questions.

    1) yes, I know what global warming is. I discuss and think about it all of the time along with the economy and outrageous gas prices.

    2) Yes, I KNOW not "believe" that it's happening. EVIDENCE people! EVIDENCE

    3)Yes, "I give a d**n about it"

4)I know that it's too late to stop it. It's been to late to stop it. I would just do a new fangled thing called *gasp*: WALKING! First off the world is all like: weight weight! OOO! so, why not WALK?? Also, I would pick up garbage and call the police on anyone I see throw garbage on the ground. In fact, I would probably stop them and tell them to pick it up. Another thing is, I would use wind as a source of power. Wind turbins are perfect ways to use as energy. I would install solar panels inside of my home. And I would use Hybrid cars instead of fuel, bio-diesel, and hydro (water :/). I would encourage people recycle although that causes more polution because of refineing it or w/e. There is more, but I don't have that much room. E-mail me if you want more things. I like to talk about Global Warming.

5)Okay, by "Petrol" do you mean gas and stuff? well, if you do mean that then they won't end. We have enough of that stuff to last us two million more years. But if we do run out then people will walk, ride bycicles and have hybrids.

    6) If sorry WHEN the north and south pole (Polar ice caps) melt then the sea will rise 3 ft. and the ocean will become warmer. The warm water will then cause the hurricans to become more fierce and more often. It will even cause the hurricane season to come shorter and end later. The summers will become hotter and the storms will become worse and the winter will become colder and the storms will become more often. The Florida heat will become hotter and in Death Vaeley instead of it bein 120 degrees F. it will become hotter. The mosquitos will become more causeing more maleria. Dieseases will become more of an epidemic (idk wat the correct word is but they'll come more often) and there will be more dieseases.

    7) no, we won't be able to live in outter space. The thing is, fuel. We don't have enough fuel to stay in outer space we will just go into outer space and possible enter the atmosphere of... mercury or soemthin and crash land and we'll all die. Plus, there are trillions of lives on earth, we wouldn't be able to live up there. Another thing, the air. We won't have enough air. And what happens if a virus gets into the air and the air cleaning thins can't get it out? Then what? So: no.

    8) Resorces will never fully come ot an end. First off, gold. We don't NEED gold for anything. But we have PLENTY of it on the ocean floor. We just have to go down ther eand get it. Food, we can grow food, cotton, cattle. We can grow and raise everythign that we need. Granted, we might not have all of the animals so the bugs, animals and other species might become over populated and the mosquitoes will mutiply and grow so that we'll have more malaria. I could go on, but not that much space. Hope I helped
