  1. It will bring about a healthier life if they can map out all the bad genes.

  2. Yes, it will better the human race. If every baby is born smarter, healthier etc

  3. I think it's a bit unfair to others.  Especially since only the rich/well to do people can afford it, bettering themselves, where others remain week in the genetic pool.  A crazy example would be deaf parents, wanting to choose an embryo that will be genetically deaf.  That is selfish. However, specific traits would be good to be used for certain reasons, such as to remove cancer possibilities, birth defects, etc.-people prone to-, and may be good for a parent who cannot have children, but want one close to them in looks.  But again comes the issue, is it fair, or even fair for others who cannot afford such a procedure or are unwilling, will the children without the genetic corrections have a hard time?  Or even the children with the traits?

  4. I'm uncomfortable with it given the origin of these possibilities were conceived in death camps under the auspices of n***s.

  5. Human genetics encompasses a variety of overlapping fields including: classical genetics, cytogenetics, molecular genetics, biochemical genetics, genomics, population genetics, developmental genetics, clinical genetics, and genetic counseling.

See below links for more information regarding human genetic

  6. Erm providing it is totally failsafe - I mean it is utterly vain to choose their appearance, but if you can ensure that they will be free of diseases or weaknesses (tendency to addiction, etc) then it can only be a good thing...

  7. Human beings are human beings, isn't there enough pressure to achieve perfection without having to have the extra burden of yet more expectation, what happens if you get hit by a bus because your parents believe you are soo perfect and soo smart that they don't need to teach you not to run across the road at an early age with your eyes closed and holding a pair of scissors with the pointy end facing you because 'it looks soo cute.'

  8. d**n it thought this was about designer clothes.
