Ok I have read a LOT of opinions on this over the last few days...I took my cat to the vet for a checkup as I was worried (as the vet was) about her weight not being great. She is only 12 months old but had a litter of kittens 10 weeks ago - all fine and healthy (and in new homes). The vet asked what I had been feeding her and I explained that she has been eating up to 12 pouches (yes 12!) per day - plus biscuits and fresh water. The vet said I shouldn't be feeding her wet food AT ALL - and told me to feed my 2 cats and kitten a 'Complete Cat Food' (dry). She recommended 'Hills', 'James Well beloved' and 'Royal Canin' and said that I have been wasting my money on buying pouches and 'crappy' biscuits because they will not fill them up - nor are they good for their teeth or digestive system.I felt so guilty because I thought I did a lot of research before I got the cats. I read that you should always have dry food available but to feed wet food also etc etc. So why make it if its that bad for them? Are they any vets out there who could give me a second opinion please? I would be so grateful :(
