  1. Most subs will sound the same, the difference is that the $99 ones will not be able to take as much abuse as the $300 ones, if you cant decide sound wise then go with quality wise, the strength and materials, the type of technology used, if you are planning on putting some major watts check the rms ratings of the subs they all wont be the same, i see that they are going into a camry, check which subs work best in a minimal enclosure because you are going to need a lot space for those subs to move the air...if they are going into a sealed box, check subs that have cooling features as they will get very hot, i would recommend kicker, but if you feel they all sound the same then base the decision on the quality build and reputation

  2. The way I'm understanding what you said by matching, you mean to match the name brand?... or match a stable amp and wattage w/ the ohm load...?

I'd say a fairly good one to consider is MA Audio. It is affordable and they also have many different levels/wattage of subs and amps.

...Another is JBL, although their subs seem to be overrated now.

...Kicker, MTX and Fosgate are a few you could always fall back on.

...Definately Memphis Audio like a previous answer said.

...JL Audio has cheaper subs, and although their amps are Expensive, it is Extremely flexible.

All of these were considered as mid-level subs and bigger amps.

Pair up the combined RMS of the subs to the Peak of the amp. Going  higher than RMS is at your own risk, and up to the listeners preference.

For the most part, these are the main ones I can think of that have good 'matching' amps. Consider mixing the brands between amps and subs, whereas matching them is not always best.

and for god sakes, I hope you didn't click on that link that was posted as an answer..... it's a virus.

  3. Just go with 4 Kicker L7's and call it a day...They will rattle ur car to pieces...lol

  4. i tell you what, for the money....kenwood makes a great 12" woofer, the kfc-w3011.  it is awesome.  read the reviews at crutchfield.com, and onlinecarstereo.com, also if money is no object, i really like my dd's.  (digital designs)

  5. Well, if you want some pretty nice subs with good sound and pretty good price and durability I would go with T3 Audio Subs. you can find information on them at www.t3audio.com These are the subs I use in my competition vehicle. I currently hold the State Title for "Maryland's Loudest Recorded Vehicle". So I think I know what I am talking about regarding subs. Now for Amps I only use Maxxsonics. They are alittle on the pricey side but hold up really nicely and work very well together with the T3 Subs. If you are just starting out with a bass system I would recommend 12" TS subs from T3 Audio and Maybe a Hifonics Goliath amp. They have different levels on the amp watts depending how you want to run the subs and how many subs you end up buying. That's my .02 cents. Good Luck.
