  1. Dane Swan for work rate and determination

eg. That awesome chase in the Essendon game.

  2. of cause barry hall

  3. OJ Simpson (retired) or Michael Vick (current)

  4. Chris Judd and Ben Cousins.

    Go Blues in 08!

  5. daniel kerr

  6. Fraiser Gerig

  7. What about Brett Kirk - I know I am a bit biased towards the Swans but for someone with limited natural ability he has become an inspirationalplayer for his team

I also consider my son, who plays reserve grade for Ainslie in the ACT competition, very highly in regard to these criteria.

  8. Robert Harvey a true gentleman of the game and a fantastic worker when he is on the field

  9. ROBERT HARVEY-a true champion

CHRIS JUDD-works hard and truly inspirational

GLEN ARCHER-typifies courage and team spirit

BEN COUSINS-on the field a real leader and one of the hardest runners (off field a whole different story)

  10. Matthew Richardson

    Nathan Ablett

    Ashley Sampi

  11. Ben Cousins & Daniel Kerr.

  12. I think Justin Koschitzke, Robert Harvey, Trent Hentschel and Ben Cousins.

Justin because he cracked his skull and ran into umpy.

Harvey coz he is the oldest player at moment.

Trent coz his knee injury was an equivlent to a massive car accident and Ben coz he has played hard on field and i acctually feel sorry for him.

  13. Jason McCartney and Adam Ramanescus it is easy to play when  fit and healthy and when you have a god given talent but to come back from what these two guys did to play again at the top level that takes real courage, guts and determination.

I would also like to add Nathan Brown after coming back so soon from that shocking broken leg.

  14. Nathan Buckley,(i know he's retired) for sheer commitment

    Jonathon Brown, Guts & determination

Robert Harvey, need i say more?

Michael Voss, i know he's retired too, but still, he rates a mention

  15. Robert Harvey.

  16. Jason McCartney does it for me.

To survive the Bali Bombing and coming out to play a final game was Inspirational.

I was there for his final game against Richmond and it was a tear jerker I'm telling you now.

  17. mmm

i kinda agree with tha second poste...ben cousins

    and chris judd too

  18. James Hird

  19. Definitely Jonothan Brown. He's one of the hardest working AFL players going around but even Jason Akermanis is up there. Glenn would be up there with Leigh Matthews also. They were both fearless and definitely courageous players.

  20. Andrew Mcleod - Adelaide Crows, he comes from the Northern Territory who dont even have there own AFL team, he gives his 100% as a team player and a star in his own right, love watching him play especially against rotten Port Adelaide. Oh and Chris Judd needs to dump the powder snorting eagles and cross over to the crows ha  ha

  21. Robert Harvey for sure mose underrated player in history hes better than hird, voss and buckley easy its just he doesnt go on talk shows all the time or tv..  and jason mccartney is a true legend he should have got australian of the year

  22. i am a west coast supporter and 12 months ago i would have said ben cousins, but now his a wanka and the decision gets harder. i would have to say it would be between, Beau Waters and Jonathon Brown. They dont give a **** what they running into, they just do it. look at the 2006 GF. Beau Waters played and excellent game. But before Cousins became a F**K head i would have said him, no one can argue with that.

  23. For courage Jason McCartney and Ramaneskus (sp)

    Work rate,determination

    The "extractor" Sam Mitchell

  24. Richo bust's his guts as much as anyone in the game, he works up the ground and pushes back like no other big man.

i respect his work ethic very much, ok, he's not the leagues best kick, but he kicked over 700 goals, he loves the club and the supporters love him, Judd also works hard as does Harvey, Scott west, there are a stack of them.

  25. Ben Cousins for onfeild. I know everyone will hate me, but he works so hard and doesnt stop running at all. He is the hardest working player Ive seen, and he also used to give the team the talks before the games even when he wasnt th captain. On the field he is/was an inspiration. Shame I cant say the same for off the field..

EDIT: I agree with adam about Baeu Waters. Hes my favourite player and is so courageous. hmmm I dont know why I didnt say him first. Still cousins on feild is better, but overall Waters is a contender.

  26. For retired afl players I would have to say James Hird.
