I heard a song in the 90s and again a few days ago at a friends wedding (she Cuban). The song sounded African (almost like up tempo tribal gospel), but my friend told me it was cuban and sung in Spanish. I love it, but I don't know the title or artist. Unfortunately I don't know Spanish either...
The song sounds more afro than cuban. Almost sounds like a choir is singing at times and then a male soloist the other part. It starts with a male soloist and then the chior comes in up tempo and strong. Lot of tempo changes and very staccato. The part of the song I remember the best is the part where the male soloist breaks off and it sounds like he's singing:
Ay, ay, aychay, aychay (male solo)
baddah, baddah, bah, bah (drum solo)
baddah, baddah, bah, bah (drum solo)
Ay, ay, aychay, aychay (male solo)
I don't know if anyone knows what I'm talking about, but it would be great to get some feedback.
Thanks!
