What Air Force Awards and Decorations will tranfer to the US Coast Guard

I'm in the Air Force as a Security Forces Member and a Senior Airman. My Awards and Decs are:

1. Joint Service Achievement Medal 0

2. Air Force Achievement Medal 0

3. Meritorious Unit Award 0

4. AF Outstanding Unit Award 2

5. National Defense Service Medal 0

6. Air Force Combat Action Medal 0

7. Southwest Asia Service Medal 0

8. Iraq Campaign Medal 1

9. Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal 0

10. Global War on Terrorism Service Medal 0

11. AF Overseas Ribbon Short 0

12. Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border 1

13. AF Longevity Service 0

14. Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon 1

15. AF Training Ribbon

  1. The only things that wouldn't would be #'s 14 and 15.  The USCG has our own marksmanship ribbons - so yours wouldn't transfer over.  Just to make sure, #15 is for ALS, correct?  If so, you wouldn't be able to wear it, as you didn't attend ALS while as a member of the Coast Guard.

    Yeah, it's screwy, but that's the way the rules work.

    If, however, you were to attend the USAF Senior NCO Academy (we take 40 Coast Guardsmen a year), you would get to wear it again... along with an oak leaf cluster.

    Even more screwy.

  3. All service medals are authorized. Same if you were to go into any branch of the military. Even if for some reason you served in a few different branches... you wear your medals for all service.
