What Alternatives Are There To Gas Central Heating?

I am building my own house and dont want to install gas into the house, and so need an alternative to gas central heating for warmth and for hot water.

I have thought about a wood burning stove but we dont have the wood surplys needed.

It is a timber framed building so is very heavily insulated so (hopefuly) the heating would only be needed in winter and on cold nights

Anyone got any alternatives to gas fuel?

  5. storage heaters. Gas is the best and cheapest

  6. There is always Oil Central Heating. How about Wood Pellets, it is supposed to be very efficient though Expensive enough to set up. You have to have A Shed or Shelter that is Waterproof, and you  Order these Bags of Wood Pellets, they are little bits of  Wood. There is some that are Multi purpose and can Burn several types of Fuel from Pellets to Logs. As well as having the Central Heating you can also install Solar Panels to Heat Water.

  7. Oil,Solid fuel.Electric.
