I have two 15" subs and two 10" underseat subs in a 96 Lumina and a Panasonic CQ-RX100U Deck and I will get an amp. The rest is all stock. What else should I get?

  1. you will need at least 2000 wats for those subs and any thing over 1000 watts you will need a capacitor and a good battery

  2. an equallizer

  3. I dont understand where the guy says you need a 2000 watt amp.  However it may be true, but you didnt post specs on ANY of your subs.  First off here, you have 4 subs....I hope the 2 pairs are the same?  not mix and match.  the problem you MAY have is noise cancellation.  If the 10's and 15's dont play right you will ACTUALLY LOSE some performance in sound.  If the sound is suppose to resonate for BASS for example from the 15's but the 10's do something slightly different (basically put the sound out of phase), it can cause cancellation and your system wont sound right and vice versa.  Most likely you will need two amps....or a 2 channel amp and run it in mono....one channel in parallel to your 15's and the other to your 10's in parallel...however that amp may not be proper enough to run both sets of subs...So realistically two seperate amps would be best here.  Also if you are running that many subs, you will probably want to upgrade your stock speakers in the doors and rear if you have them.  Otherwise with 4 subs, they will MOST LIKELY cancel your midrange sound or drown them out...so all you get is BOOM.....and no voice...or music...just boom.

And something to think about....if you need at LEAST two amps to run your sets of subs....You may even need a third amp if you plan to upgrade your highs and mids... I would suggest a good decent component set or two...fronts and rears...to offset your subs.

And in doing all that you may need to upgrade your electrical system.  Probably Battery, the big three, and maybe a cap, or a second battery.

Make sure your box is built well for your 15's....I Dunno how you will fit the 10's...if they are slimline 10's.....they might fit/work ok....

You will probably need a professional to help you test your system out to minimalize the cancellation.
