I have 2 12" Alpine Type R SWR-1242D DVC subwoofers (500w rms) and a Kicker ZX450.2 amp sitting in a ported enclosure with a Dual XD7600 head unit. I am in the market for a new amplifier and have $300 to spend. I have done much research and found many amps that may be great choices to go with. As of now, I am almost completely settled on a Kicker 06ZX1000.1 amp but am also very interested in an Alpine MRP-M1000. The only problem is that I have read much information regarding 1 ohm stable amps and my subwoofers in particular and I have read many people always informing individuals to go with the Alpine Type-R's that are SVC 2 ohm subwoofers. I have the DVC 4 ohm versions so what would the best amplifier out of the two to go with? Anything would help. Would the Kicker and/or Alpine amps be good matches for my subwoofers?

  1. go with the alpine!!

  2. 2 channel,1200 watt,alpine amplifier.

  3. Go with the alpine if your going to wire your subs in 2 ohms. I just bought the alpine mrp-m1000 and it rocks.

  4. I just recommended this same amp to someone with a similar setup. For your price range, take a look at the Kicker ZX750.1 mono amp. It will push 750 rms at 2 ohms and you can pick it up at onlinecarstereo.com for around $268.
