What Are Good Tips For A 1st time Move?

I need tips for moving out of my parents out finely but this is my1st time moving out and I'm moving into my b/f's and i have a cat and he has a dog so please help me since i don't know what to do!

when u pack mark whats in the box on the box  list mostly everything it makes unpacking so much easier and pack by room not everything together.

The 2 pieces of advice I have from my many moving experiences:  

1.  Write what is in the box, on the box if you can.  It will save you alot of time searching for stuff later.  (You think "no, I don't have to do that,  I'll remember where everything is."  lol, NO YOU WON'T!!!  You'll remember some stuff, maybe even most stuff.  But I guarantee you, there will be something that you positively cannot find and it will drive you mad.)  You won't have to open every box to find the spatula if you write  "cooking utensils" on the box it's in.

2.  Pack an overnight case for moving day.  P.J.'s for that night, an outfit for the next day when your in your new home.  Toiletries,  All the stuff you would pack for an overnight stay at a friends house.  But with a few extras.  At least one fork, knife, spoon, plate, cup and bowl for everyone who is moving in.  (Don't forget the cat and dog dishes, too)  That way, even if you get pizza delivered for dinner that night, you can still eat like a human being and you will have a bowl for cereal in the morning.  

Then you will be ready to unpack your stuff the next day.
