  1. i'm going to have to disagree with the statement that afi sold out with decemberunderground. because their sound changed with sing the sorrow. and that was where they really broke into the mainstream.

i will say mcr. because i've listened to their older stuff and their newer stuff and it's a lot different. of course that could be just growing up.

edit: haha is there a my chem fan lurking?

  2. Fall Out Boy

    Avenged Sevenfold

    Green Day

  3. I'm not to sure, but I would expect people to say Green Day and Fall Out Boy. Just because what they're making now is very different then their past works or whatever.

  4. bands cannot be sellouts; they are writing their music for themselves, not for you. They are not forcing you to like them or their music. People change and mature, and bands do too. They experience new things and have different views than in the past

  5. any one who sells their music to make money as in the millions to big company's who try and sell their own wares as Micheal Jackson did with Pepsi any artist you see do this is a SELL OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Fall Out Boy

    My Chemical Romance

    Panic At The Disco

    AFI

    All American Rejects

  7. I think that AFI, Linkin Park, and MCR sold out big time with Decemberunderground, Minutes To Midnight, and The Black Parade.

Many other artists people consider to be sellouts really aren't, they've just always been sucky pop-punk corporate bands.

Really, nearly anybody who signs to a major label becomes a sellout, unless they're SERIOUSLY focused on art and message instead of money.

  8. Well there's a lot of them. But i hear that most people think that any artist that uses their music in commercials is a sellout. The Beatles thought that and so none of their actual music is used in commercials. Just g*y Jonas Brothers cover versions. No Led Zeppelin stuff is in commercials either.

Basically anyone that uses their music in commercials is a sellout. If a cover version is played then it's ok.

  9. My Chemical Romance all the way.

  10. My two cents ... I don't think Green Day ever really sold out (despite the ridiculous "time of your life" song)> Some bands are just always sell-outs, and you wouldn't really know unless you knew the band and their motives. Obviously contrived bands (Backstreet Boys) are ... but I don't know about calling a band a sell-out just because they signed onto a major record label. Did their music change b/c they signed or b/c they grew up? I've been listening to Green Day since the 7th grade (which, unfortunately, is 14 years ago) so obviously their sound will change. Besides, what difference does it make? If you like their music, listen to it.
