I'm 15 years old. I'm more of a beach girl than anything and I enjoy surfing and snorkeling. However, I'm going to Vancouver, Windsor, and British Columbia Canada for 10 days. Although i enjoy nature, I am a city girl at heart. What are some fun things I can do that will be a thrill. I am type-A and can never just sit still. It'll be August.

  1. when I went to vancouver last year it rained for 5 days straight. I went to the aquarium (very pretty). They have a website where you can watch the otters 24/7. I also went to village shops and there is a science museum.

  2. here are some tips and suggestions:

    http://jotan23.blogspot.com/2008/06/week...

    go to Stanley Park!!!

you can hike, bike, just lay down on the grass, have picnic and basically, do just about anything there!!!!

    the place is truly AMAZING!!!

There's the Brockton Point Lighthouse, Totem Poles and Prospect Point, where you could have a great view of the Lions Gate Bridge and Grouse Mountain from the top of Prospect Point.

You might also want to consider going to Cypress Mountain and watch the beautiful sunset from there. It's only 30 minutes away from the heart of downtown Vancouver.

It also offers one of the best ski resorts in town!!!

It'll aslo be fun to visit Gastown's Historical Steamclock, which was designed and built by Ray Saunders in 1977. It belches steam and hoots out the famous Westminster chimes "Big Ben" theme!!! i love it!!!

you could also spend a perfect day at Granville Island.

Granville Island lies below the Granville Street bridge. The public market has everything you need and the island also offers lots of places to dine.

You could also bring your dog and jog on the beach of Vancouver Downtown.

the beach is not good for swimming but it's really nice to see in Downtown.

You should also dine at THE EATERY... The Funkiest place for Japanese food indeed!

    hehehe yum yum!!!

Walk around the structure of Canada Place to get a good panoramic view of the city!!!

    fantastic!!!

Don't miss the Capilano Suspension bridge too!!!

It is said to be Vancouver's oldest tourist attraction, which was originally built in 1889.

It stretches 450 feet (137m) across and 230 feet (70m) above the Capilano River.

Go and visit the Lighthouse Park too, if you have more time.

It contains the largest uncut, coastal-elevation trees in the Lower Mainland, which a spectacular view!!! This is within a 10-minute walk of the parking lot.

Also, ride a ferry (about an hour and a half) going to Victoria Island to complete your Vancouver experience!

It is said to be the vacation capital of Canada.

Go to the Parliament building to have a good view of marina; then, have a tea break at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. It is one of Victoria's highlights, with its true British tradition and atmosphere!!!

Before going back to the city, have a soup and salad at Pagliacci's, which is very popular to the locals for is great pasta, desserts, and wonderful ambiance!!!

  3. Well first of all let me tell you that Vancouver is a REALLY boring place. The most exciting place in Vancouver is Downtown. As in for other places like North and West Vancouver there all small malls here and there. If your interested in North Vancouver, there is the Park Royal mall, which has two seperated malls actually. One is more Entertainment, and such, and the other is more fashion and clothing. Another popular mall in North Vancouver is the Capilano Mall, its not that big but it packs everything a mall needs. Food, Clothes, and Entertainment. The only mall that i know of in West Vancouver is the Lonsdale Key. Now...Downtown is packed with tons of places. There is the Scotiabank theater which is always updated with the latest movies. Also, just walking around downtown is really fun but NOT at all in East Hastings, dont ever go there. Its disgusting. And last but not least, is the Metro Town mall, probably Vancouvers biggest mall ever. Its packed with 470+ Shops, and is 4 levels total. Im not quite sure where its located but its quite far ouside of town.

Well i hope you enjoy Vancouver, right now (Summer) its an OK weather but WARNING: RAIN IS OUR BEST FRIEND. It rains 24/7 here so be ware.

  4. Snorkeling in the immediate Vancouver area.. not so much.  Surfing is more on the west side of Vancouver Island which is a long ways from Vancouver itself.

The local beaches (Spanish Banks, Kitsilano) are right of the downtown core and worth a visit. Wreck Beach out by UBC is nudist so might not want that one.

In Vancouver I would think about visting the following which each has their own "thrill" events:  Check out the links

http://www.grousemountain.com  (gondola ride up itself is pretty good but they also have ziplines and other adventures once up there).

    also worth a visit;  http://www.capilanosuspensionbridge.com/

For shopping in Vancouver ;  stroll down Robson Street

Also, the Pacific National Exhibition is on from aug,16 until the end of the month... they have a great old wooden roller coaster there along with lots of other rides and fair events

When you say Windsor.. I think you might mean Whistler? which is the big ski area here.  Things to do there http://www.tourismwhistler.com/

You'll have a blast ...have a great time
