  1. I'm a big fan of the Karl Strauss Brew Pub, when I come to town for Comic-Con I always make sure to go there.  They have a late dinner seating on Saturday night which really helps me out.  Their "Bock of America" goes well with their garlic mashed potatoes - and don't miss the "Chocolate on Tap" dessert with a Downtown After Dark Brown Ale.  Beer + Cheese soup is good too.

The Stone brewery makes some great beers, but I usually can't get out of the downtown area - so I go to the Yard House, (which is a brewpub, not a brewery) which has the biggest beer selection I've ever seen - they serve all the Stone beers, including the Smoked Porter, which complements a Bacon burger quite nicely.

Stone's Arrogant b*****d is a great beer...try Double b*****d too if you can find it.

Green Flash Brewery is supposedly pretty good.  I tried one of their beers and it was a little too hoppy for me, but they also have a Belgian Trippel, an Imperial IPA, and a West Coast IPA.

  2. Karl Strauss, Stone, Rock Bottom,  & Ballast Point.

  3. Karl Strauss and Stone Brewing Company.  Karl Strauss is a good one and probably the biggest.  It has restaurants all over San Diego.  There is one downtown, in La Jolla, and in N. County.

Stone is really popular and out of the N. County, Escondido.  They make really dark strong beers.  A popular one is arrogant b*****d.

Ballast point is right by USD by morena blvd.  I am not a huge fan, but their stuff is not bad.  Their yellow tail pale ale is growing on me.  You can find it a fair amount of local bars and restaurants.

Coronado Brewing company is not bad either.  They are obv. out of Coronado.

Oggi's makes pizza as well. I know they several restaurants.  One in Mission Valley.

Others include : AleSmith Brewing & Lost Abbey/Port Brewing

  4. I personally like the Coronado Brewery and then Stone up in North County.  They are the makers of IPA

  5. Whenever I have a question about where to go in San Diego for ANYTHING........ I go to Yelp.com.  They review Restaurants, Bars, Dentist, Doctors, Shops etc.

Many breweries in San Diego that have been rated for you to look at, a couple in oceanside.  Check out the web site.
