My aunt got a budgie last week and she just bought another one but the 1st budgie keep's "kissing" the new one, It opens its beak and put's it againsed the other budgies beak. The First one also puts its beak into the other one's feathers. The new one seemed freaked out with it at first but now their sitting on the same perch. Is This A Good Sign?

  1. It is a good sign. Maybe you'll have baby parakeets soon.

  2. This is a wonderful sign!  The 'kissing' is really feeding and the grooming is just that grooming.  Watch for the 'dancing' and the head bobbing these are all ways they say I like you, it is all nurturing.  It doesn't matter if they are the same s*x or not, it is just how they interact with each other.  Your aunt got lucky it took ours about a week to want to be around each other.

  3. their kisssinn and grooming each other.

my parakeets do the same thing. aww!

  4. WOOOHOOO They have bonded :)

  5. Budgerigars are very affectionate birds and like close physical contact with others of their kind and humans if others of their kind aren't available. Don't worry, unless the dominant budgie starts pulling the feathers off the other one and you see blood, you do not have any kind of problem. They're just bonding with each other.
