  1. He might not actually be lying but i'm not sure.

    Sometimes things like that happen.

It happened to my friend when he moved to Canberra and had to drop back a year.

But when you go to school you can find out.

Well, I think it's different landscape in Queensland.

The beaches are amazing there and also there is the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

Depends where abouts in Queensland you are going to live.

Brisbane is a pretty nice place as well if you are living around there.

There are **** cities of course, but there are **** cities everywhere in Australia no matter where you go.

Info: They are building a huge *** d**n in South Queensland so there is a lot of protest going on towards that.

I'm about the same age as you so and lived in Queensland (i'm in England atm) and its a gorgeous place with lots of stuff to do around the place (again, it depends where you live)

but i'm sure you'll be right.)

  2. Firstly Welcome too Queensland!

Secondly, i assume that you will find the weather exactly the same as in W.A.

Beaches are great in queensland, however it depends on what you really enjoy, if you like all of the touristy things then we have more than enough too offer.

As for schooling, your friend is incorrect. In queensland we have high school from grade 8 too grade 12.

Grade 10 = 14,15 and (perhaps 16) yrs of age.

The subjects we have on offer i assume will be different, your schooling experiences might be a bit different too, however school is school.

here are the term dates and stuff for school, so you know when our holidays are.

Everyone here is very social, expecially if you arent from around here - most people will ask a million and one questions about where you are from and what you are used too.

but im sure you will find everyone is very welcoming!

    :)

  3. You don't have to drop a year back. That's absolute nonsense. And life in Queensland is not so different to Western Australia. Brisbane is very similar to Perth only friendlier. I'm sure you will enjoy it!

You will have to start at a new school and the subject options might be different but I reckon you'll have a wider choice of options.

  4. I'd be surprised if you have to go back to year 9 unless you're very young. Most of our year 10s are 14, turning 15 during the year and you'll probably find that you're a little ahead in some subjects and a little behind in others. If you go to a good school you won't have a problem - they'll help you catch up.

As for other things: the weather in Brisbane is warmer in winter than it is in Perth, and not as hot in summer. It's more humid than Perth but not as humid as people say it is.

Brisbane is a somewhat bigger city than Perth and being on the east coast, there tends to be a slightly wider variety of shops but really, it's pretty much the same in every capital city.

Brisbane has no surf beaches close by. You have to go to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast. Of course the Gold Coast is a huge difference in itself with its theme parks and other things to do and the Sunshine Coast has heaps as well. I don't recall there being anything like the GC near Perth.

The above all assumes you're coming to Brisbane from Perth. If you're not coming to Brisbane, post again and you'll get some different answers.
