  1. If you have not been paid as pro in football you need to apply for admission to a school that you want to attend. Inquire about the school requirements as far as going out for the football team.

You might also seek out the athletic director of the school and find out if you are eligible to play college ball. Make sure you tell him/her about your stint with the semi-pro team so they can look into your eligible.

Age has nothing to do with you playing. The number of years you play will be determined by if you were deemed to have played at a junior college level and how many years you actually played in college.

The only thing I can really see that might hinder you is your explanation for the semi pro league you played in. I am not sure not taking money will make you eligible, the fact that you played might be sufficient that might make you ineligible.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

  2. Well, there's a couple of things there.

First, the NCAA would determine your eligibility, which they would get from your total number of semesters attended. Odds are you would have maybe 3 years, maybe 4 if they were feeling nice.

Then you have to get into a school. Problem is, most of these schools are about 6 days away from game number one, so you would almost certainly miss this season.

In terms of your size, a nose tackle, or defensive tackle is the most likely position for you. But granted, those numbers were also about 5 years ago for you.

Honestly, I would say with your size and speed, Div-I is a bit of a pipe dream. Div-IAA has some potential. But really, if you want to play ball, and still get a good education, look D-II and D-III. There is still the chance you can make it pro if you have a great 2 or 3 years in those ranks, you most likely can get a ride, (although you may have to start as a walk on,) and who knows, you might get something from it.

Funnily enough, your age has no difference. Everyone forgets Chris Wienke, dude won the Heisman as a 28 year old ex-pitcher.
