  1. WOW you make it sound so easy? Let me know how it works out? Maybe I will too.

  2. First you need to do year 12 with passes in English, Maths and a Science subject. Then you do 3 - 6 years training at an aviation college or through the airforce. It's pretty hard... but very exciting job ; )

  3. You don't neccesarily need to go to the air force academy, that is just one path to becoming a pilot.  You do need to be a college graduate however, and the Academy is one of the most prestigious colleges in the nation.  Check out the air force web site, and the following which is from eHow.com:

1  Step One Read about the Air Force. Understand fully that you are signing up to become an officer in the Air Force. You may plan on flying fighters, but the Air Force may have other ideas.

2  Step Two Apply to the officer program of your choice. You may apply online through the Air Force Web site. The programs include the United States Air Force Academy, Air Force ROTC and Air Force Basic Officer Training. You may apply for both an AFROTC scholarship and admission to the Academy.

3  Step Three Examine the majors offered at the colleges you would like to attend and then apply to college. Your academic major will play a role in receiving AFROTC scholarships and may impact your career choices down the road. All pilots must be college graduates.

4  Step Four Complete your officer program and be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. Near the end of your commissioning program you will choose your career specialty.

5  Step Five Request to become an Air Force pilot. If you do not meet the requirements, there are many other fields involving aviation in the Air Force that you may want to explore, such as a navigator or an air battle manager.

6  Step Six Attend undergraduate pilot training, which consists of classroom work and flight training. You will choose your track based on merit and instructor input. The tracks are fighter/bomber, airlift/tanker, multi-engine turboprop and helicopter.

7  Step Seven Go to and graduate from Advanced Aircraft Training. You will receive track specific training here and get your wings. You will select your specific aircraft based on merit and needs of the Air Force.

  4. A citizen of the United States. Your citizenship must be finalized prior to entering the Academy. You must submit proof of citizenship if you were foreign born or naturalized. Authorized international students are exempt from this requirement.

    Unmarried with no dependents.

    Of good moral character.

At least 17, but less than 23 years of age by July 1 of the year you would enter. The age requirement is public law and cannot be waived.

Of high leadership, academic, physical and medical standards.

    Social Security Number

You must have a social security number to open an admissions file. If you don’t have one, ask for an SSA-5 Form from your local Social Security Administration Office. You must furnish evidence of your date of birth, identity and U.S. citizenship. For tax purposes, international students will obtain a valid social security account number when they arrive.

    Transcripts and Activities Record

You must submit your entire scholastic record from secondary school, as well as transcripts from any preparatory school or college you’ve attended. High school students must submit their current rank in class, if known and we need a high school activities record outlining your performance in extracurricular or other activities that indicate leadership potential.

    Birth Certificate

You must use your name as it appears on your birth certificate on all official records unless the Admissions Office has received legal evidence authorizing a name change. If you are adopted and claim eligibility in a nominating category through an adoptive parent, you must submit a copy of the court order of adoption. Also, adoption proceedings must have begun before your 15th birthday. You must submit proof of citizenship if you were foreign born or naturalized.

    Travel Expenses

Appointees will receive instructions concerning reimbursement for travel to the Academy. Travel allowances will be credited to your personal checking account. If you refuse to take the Oath of Allegiance upon arrival at the Academy, or are disqualified for admission because of some fault of your own, you will not be entitled to reimbursement.

    Service Obligations

Before you take the Oath of Allegiance, you’ll sign an agreement (with the consent of your parents or guardian if you are a minor) stating that you will fulfill the service obligations and corresponding policies found here, which apply to all cadets except international students.
