  1. Haven't seen a game like that for years and the intensity of the All Blacks was outstanding even though quite surprising. The AB backs were clearly superior but in an environment that hardly suited them. Look out for the AB's on a dry track.

The most fascinating part was the performance of the forwards.- Thorn and Williams outstanding with stellar performances from Rodney and the loosies. When the c**p started the AB's didn't turn a hair. Just responded in kind. It was fierce but it was healthy. The only way to deal with these fellas - otherwise they are all over you. As for the Thorn matter - my understanding was that the whistle had been blown, Smit kept on going on with a tackle on Thorn - Thorn objected ( as you would) and stood up. Smit still hangs on and Thorn drops him. He came down awkwardly but all due to his own carry on . No one likes to see someone hurt but in my recall it was his fault for continuing to go on with the personal thing with Thorn. Thats my rub on it - may be biased. Used to stay up all night listening to the Radio when the SA refs murdered the AB's in the real early days. Now we have Aussie refs. They love us! Yeah

  2. The AB's played well....I really like Brad Thorn but it was a bit silly that he dumped John Smit (although very entertaining..lol)

It was a good game, both teams played well...but the AB's are not cheats..it's sickening listening to all the other teams whinge about that...

The new Bok coach should just concentrate on his own team and play the game

  3. ABs were far too good, the score could easily have been 14 points higher to the Blacks, but for a couple of bad calls from officials. The Boks were stung, they really  thought they could bully the ABs into submission, with  their usual ,off the ball niggle . Butch James ,again showed his frustration and lack of skills ,coming up against Dan Carter in superb form.He tried to take Carter`s head off a few times, but he`s learning that Carter`s not only a brilliant footballer, he`s as tough as old boots too.

  4. the game was awesome, two power teams didn,t stop trying, very on the edge of the seat stuff, love the new rules, makes league boring now, can.t wait for game two.

  5. Funny how you kiwi's bleat about Butch James, yet Brad Thorn gets away with the most blatant act of thuggery right in front of the ref - and no-one mentions it. Come on, admit it: If he we're a South  African or England player it would have been a yellow or even a red.

The best team won, no doubt.

But pot kettle black comes to mind regarding the foul play

  6. All blacks had a blinder... as far as foul play goes.. both teams were guilty and its been dealt with.. i didnt see butch get anything for the late tackles he did on carter.. and Thorn got one week. fair. there was so much off the ball stuff it was a great contest...

    AB's won, end of story..
