  1. Your pup should already come with his first set of shots if he is already 8 weeks old. That is for the breeder to supply, esp. if you are paying for the dog.

That would be a big red flag for me right there.

I would find another breeder, but reputable before I bought this pup.

Does he come with registry papers?

How much are you paying for this pup?

If you have to provide the first set of shots you better go ahead and deworm him again also, just in case they didn't but tell you they did.

I would ask for proof that they did, before I took this pup home.

  2. He should get his first set at 8 weeks, or early as 6 week.  Then it's every 3 weeks after, 4 sets total.  Don't take him out in public until he gets his first set.  If you're having money problem now how are you going to afford all the shots?

  3. Well it depends on where you live what shots you need and when.  The vet will make up a schedule for you when you take him in for his new puppy exam.

  4. Well if coming from a good breeder, he should have his first one already because they get them at 7 weeks. If not, he should really get them as soon as possible.

You can wait the three weeks, it's just a taking a huge risk that he can catch something. You would never be able to let him outside your home except to potty in a privet backyard. If you live somewhere you don't have a backyard, you will have to buy potty pads so he doesn't go outside and become exposed to parvo or distemper.

You should really see if you vet does a shot package called a puppy pack. They give you a discount on the shots as long as you get them on time.

Though, really, if you can't afford to even give him probably the cheapest vet care you are ever going to give him, what happens if he has an emergency or becomes sick, you can't put off a vet visit till you have the money, he has to go then. Or are you going to have the money to have him neutered? These are things that need to be taken into consideration for the over all well being of the dog. Because from the sound of it, you aren't getting him from a good breeder so they aren't going to help you in any way down the line.

  5. Puppies should begin vaccinations at 6-8 weeks of age and receive boosters for parvo every 2-4 weeks until 16 weeks of age. Black and tan breeds are thought to be more predisposed to parvo - and some vets like to vaccinate until 21 weeks of age.
