What Army Regulation dictates how many hours an active duty service member can work per week?

If I'm not mistaken, when you work for 24 hours , you're authorized to get off the following day for the same amount of hours you worked. And I also know that only 4 hours of sleep are authorized in a field environment. Can someone point me in the right direction of which Army Regulation states this info?

  1. You are officially on call 24X7 You Will have a normal schedule set, typically revelie is at 0530 with PT(physical training) at about 6am.

This is followed by a morning meal break, and then depending on your garrison, you would have first work call formation around 0800am with your end of day at around 1630.

Be aware that you will also have additional duties, CQ (Charge Of Quarters) and guard duty.

All subject to change without notice, partiularly if you are in the field or are sent to "The Bad Place"

Hmmmmm! PT! Good training for young soldiers!

    Hoowah!

  2. get it thru your head, that in the military ,YOU are on duty 24/7, 365 days a year, NO overtime pay, bonus, etc....

    Its not a 9-5 job!

  3. ROFL. NONE!

A soldier is a soldier 24/7/365 and will work as many hours as needed.

They don't always get 4 hours of sleep a night, either. Mission always comes first.

  4. too bad its not true, when my hudband was in iraq he worked 16 hours a day for 14 months with one day off...and that one day off he worked 6 hours...lol

  5. you work till the mission is done , and the 4 hours of sleep does not mean in a row , in iraq i spent 10 days awake on my feet with mre coffee in my cheek at all times , if i would of dozed off i would actully really be dead now , battle does not have a snooze button and in the field it all depends on your job , in the field i avarage 1 hour of solid sleep every 2 days

  6. HAHA...NO...that regulation does NOT exist, I once worked 72 hours, i got a solid 3 hours off :)
