  1. well--- since i dont know alot about the "chevy's" in austrailia, i'll tak shot at this one anyway....  there were chevrolets built there in the 60's an 70's , is this correct ? even though they were named differently , they should still be the same design. any of the malibu's ,chevelles, camaros and some station wagons could have the 12 bolt rearends in them there as they did here in the states.   it should not be hard to get . or find.. since you did not tell us what kind of car you're putting in , i assume a chevy/holden ?  your choices should be very good on the type of rearend you can get there. did you look into the 9" ford rearend? they are stronger and can be had for the same money and they are much easier to work on. im a lifr long chevy guy but, ford did make one of the best rearends for hotrods-ever !  i put one in my malibu and i'm very happy with it. i got thru "quick perfomance " here in the states for 2200.00 all top grade parts and it was cheaper and stronger than the gm 12 bolt .    they are easily fitted to anything you want to put them in and the gear selections are cheaper and easier to get since they have not made the 12 bolt for some time now.  most companies offering these rearends have the size and style you'll need for your car. all it takes is phone call to find out what is available for your car. good luck with  it..
