Hey guys, just wondering if you can help?

My friend is disabled and has usher syndrome type1. As her best friend im her full time carer and its great job but never seems like a job hehe.

Were sending off a normal housing form, and disabled persons form, and hopefully will get a house 2-3 bedroom, because of her health/disabled problems.

We have had a look at the areas and we just dont know the best ones to choose. As we need to be VERY local to everything, shops, shopping centres, supermarkets prefrebably asda lol. But the area has to benefit her needs because of her disablity and beacuse being deaf/blind, she needs to know her environment.

We live currently in west heath. But not sure what areas are best, we have so far chosen Kings-Norton, Kings-Heath, Stirchley, Northfield, Bartley Green, and Rubery....But were just sooo confused what are the best to choose? Also were sending for a different area form, blackpool, we might have better luck there, but doing both :D Please help

  1. Hall Green is great and they're building a new asda just up the road from me!

Also Kings heath like you've put and Moseley is also brilliant

GOOD LUCK and stay in brum! hope everything goes well for you both :D

  2. If I had a choice between having a sexually transmitted disease or living in Birmingham the disease would win every time,

Go with Blackpool then you'll not need to suffer the Brummies whiney accent

  3. If I was you, I would opt for Kings Norton, It's prettier than any of the other area'a. I once lived in Bartley Green, (Cromwell lane) it was like living on the Bronx. I see you don't have Bournville on your list? It's only a few miles from the City Centre, near to Selly Oak, and the hospital, and yet has a country village feel to it, with parks, and a village green.

With a  disability, your friend should have no problems geting on their list.

If ever I had to move back to Birmingham,(from Cornwall) It's where I would definitely move to.

  4. I hear that Edgbaston is quite nice.

As for the Asda thing- there's one in Perry Barr (but that's a rough area) and there's one in Great Barr.

Great Barr isn't too bad, actually. It's got quite a lot of shops too.

  5. northfiled is great my dad lives here and i live in kings norton northfiled is peaceful and really pleasant you got the northfiled shopping high street a big sainsburys in all its a quite but busy place to be if you get what i mean also the people are nice you wont get odd stares at your friend because there is quite a few disable people who live there plus elderly is a big percentage there  selly oak ( also a great place to shop )is just 20 mins away on the bus. compare to other places this seems to be the best one good luck ! oh and asda in the car is about 20 mins away

to the t**t above me  the brummie accent rocks i bet your accent is some c**p double dutch

  6. The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland altogether,

    Birmingham is in England,

Are you one of those people who only calls England, the UK?

  7. I live in Northfield Birmingham, and am quite happy here. There is a great shopping centre and a sainsburys, iceland, home bargains etc. but if you want to be near asda as far as im aware the nearest asda to here would be bromsgrove or oldbury.
