  1. Halifax is not bad. Nationwide's staff are very helpful. Barclay is the worst.


  2. The Co-operative bank regularly comes top of surveys.

    Two reasons why it does. Firstly it has excellent customer service and no foreign call centres.

    Secondly it has an ethical policy.

  4. depends on what service you require .eg debit card , credit card ,savings, loans etc . your main banks .don't use small ones . there intrest rates will hurt .which i found out from experience . i bank with the halifax

  5. First Direct are good.  Its online or telephone banking.  The telephone staff are all based in the UK - a major plus!

    Like the Nationwide.

    Banks are in it for the money, Building societys are in it for the members (savers and borrowers)

  7. Yes I agree the Co-operative Bank! I've been with them for years, excellent customer care and of course their ethical policies are important!
