What Bass guitar tunings do you use?

Standard tuning is EADG, but my bass is tuned to DGCF. It lets me hit that low D, and my whole bass tone sounds deeper. It took a few months to get use to, but now I can easily transposer keys in my head to adjust to my tuning. Do you use any different tunings? Why?

  1. I keep my bass at BEAD, and use heavy gauge strings. I'll also do AADG once in a while.

  2. i play a 3-string bass tuned to A-D-G and showed it at the Summer NAMM show

  3. When i played bass a lot it was in drop D tuning. Mostly because I was in a metal-esque band and that's just what the band chose.

The deeper tunings definitely sound better in my opinion

  4. i like to s***w around a lot but i really favor D, Ab, D, G

i like this one becuse it makes some original songs my band plays a little easier.
