I recommend the hanging water bag.  It is a leather bag with a water-filled bladder inside.  It is less stressful on the hands and has give to it, which makes it feel more realistic.  You can purchase one at www.ringside.com or www.titleboxing.com.  I don't like the bags with the foam liners.  I would also stay away from water bags sold in local sports chain stores as their quality is often poor.
