There are so many fantastic broadway shows out there! Last year, i saw Hairspray, which was AWESOME! Since I got very good grades on my exams, and overall in the school year, I am going to another one next week. But what show should i get tickets too?!?! I've heard Wicked is veryyyyyyyyyy good. should i see Wicked? Or should I see Legally blonde? What is a good broadway show, and age appropriate for someone under the age 15?

  1. I'm fourteen, I've seen both, and they're great. I would probably reccomend Wicked over LB, but if you wanna see LB with most of the original Broadway cast, I would hurry and see that because Laura Bell Bundy (Elle) leaves July 20th.  My personal favorite musicals are RENT and Hairspray (I know you've seen Hairspray). I would reccomend seeing RENT. It's closing September 7th and it's truly a touching musical that definitely changed my life. The music is amazing, the characters are so relatable, and the plotline is great. If you're under 13 it might be too innappropriate, but if you're 13 or 14, go see it. It's definitely a classic.

  2. if i could, i would see wicked but most of the time it is sold out and you have to get the tickets far in advance.  if i were you i would try to go see a chorus line because it is a classic and a really good show.

  3. I love Broadway, but this year they've got some duds. Don't see the Little Mermaid or Xanadu. Cry Baby is supposed to be good and so is Wicked and Legally Blonde. Personally, I'd see the revival of Gypsy because very famous Broadway stars like Patty Lapone are in it and it's told to be spectacular. Mary Poppins is another good one because of its special effects that disney pulls off. Lion King is a classic one to see aswell. So many choices!

  4. phantom of the opera was amazing! and im 14.

  5. I suspect both have subtle nuances in them, age related, but at 15 and with no offense, I'll assume none are things you're unaware of.

Neither would be my choice, but that's just my opinion. If I had to choose, "Legally" would be more comedic. In any case Wicked is getting good reviews, but certainly won't be a Classic,,,nor will Legally. I find it offensive actually that OZ is being ripped off.

At the cost of a seat however, you should enjoy whatever you see, so much, that it stays with you awhile.

    Just my 2 "scents"

  6. the best broadway shows ever made is RENT. It is the best and u will love it .It is sone coming off broadway shows(sep 7) so if u wont to see it do it NOW!!!

  7. I would see Wicked deffo! and you just got Kerry Ellis, lol!

Never seen Legally Blonde movies, but i have heard the musical is ok.

  8. Wicked is just amazing, and from what I've heard Legally Blonde is good too, but I find some of the songs slightly annoying after a while.

Of the two, see Wicked. It's definitely a good show for someone UNDER 15. And everyone else 8 and up...I saw it last year for my 14 birthday, and I'm going to see it again this year.

You don't really need to know the story to understand it, but there's a few little jokes and nuances that you might understand more if you know Gregory Maguire's book and L. Frank Baum's the Wizard of Oz.

They do not have whiney voices. That person probably heard a bad recording of the show, which is illegal anyway. Soprano is different from 'whiney', that's what Glinda is.

I have the entire original Broadway cast recording of Wicked on my youtube channel, so you can listen to it if you like [the Musical Theatre playlist]:
