What CMS product is better than drupal at providing strong support for multiple editors and complex workflows?

Question

We are working in a unix/linux environment with php and perl skills, and database can by mysql/postgresql.

We have a complex site with highly complex navigation structure.

Our team of editors work daily, and need good tools including check in / check out, version control, preview, deployment scheduling and so on.

modx is pretty good, but I think it might not be as complex as drupal
