What Camera Brand is the Best Nikon or Canon??????

Question

im looking for an affordable dslr and i've noticed that canon seems cheaper, but everyone i know tells me to go with nikon because it's better, i did have a Nikon D60 for about 2 months and Loved it, but though it had the VR feature on in I noticed the pictures didnt come out as sharp.

Anyways, I usually shoot at concerts and events where people are moving, so IS/VR would be a big deal.

Can anyone help??? Also know any good sites to buy these cameras cheap???

If you limit yourself to Nikon and Canon they all make good cameras. One model might have more features, and there are several different models from both Canon and Nikon, all with different features and price range. Performance and quality of their different models are fairly equal.

What you need and what feels best in your hands should be deciding.

Remember in all this hype about the virtues of different camera makers that Nikon started out making binoculars for Japanese military and later on so called pirate lenses or third part lenses and their first camera in 1948. Canon made cheaper copies of Leica cameras in their humble beginning. Camera and lens makers of other less well known brands have been making cameras since 1920 or earlier.

IS/VR function of Canon and Nikon are also comparable, they dont eliminate ALL camera shake and there are more factors than just shake, sensor quality, lens sharpness etc.

Try evaluating cameras through tests on the net like Steve's digicam and then use the links to affiliated shoping sites and compare prices there.

Both are great cameras.  I have a slight preference for Nikon.  The new D300 (about $1,800 - ouch!) has a very high ISO, which will help with the concert photography (at least in low light.)  A fast lens would also be a good investmetn, as it would allow you to shoot with a faster shutter speed and cut down on blur.

I love Amazon.com you can find all types of Cameras and many different prices.  

As for what's the best they both are good.  So just look for the one that will fit your needs.  Good luck.

nikon is lot better than canon and invest in the lens or go for higher models in dslr nikon.

No one is better than another.

Just try them at your local shop, and see with which one you have the best feeling.
