What Can I Do At a Dance/Have Fun That Doesn't Involve Freak Dancing?

I'm going to a high school back to school dance and I know there WILL be freak dancing involved. I'm not the type of person who likes to freak dance. I just go there to have fun. Not a lot of my friends are going to it so what can I do to enjoy myself around with other friends that are going? There is peer pressure when it comes to freak dancing but I don't really want to do it. What can I do?

  1. You don't have to freak dance. You can chill with your friends, make jokes, and move from side to side to the music.

  2. Well, this probably won't help much for your upcoming dance, but you may want to try some very basic introductory dance lessons of your choice, be it hip hop or ballroom for the future.  Most local dance studios (particularly ballroom) run an intro special for a nominal fee and don't require a partner.  If you have a girl friend (or a girlfriend) you could see if she would be interested too.  Remember ballroom dancing isn't all prissy flicks of the wrist...cha-cha and hustle are two great dances that can be danced to all sorts of pop music like Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Britney Spears, PCD etc.

If you're confident, and out to have fun, you'll have a great time.  Trust me (I've been dancing for 10+ years!) women respect a guy who can dance--whatever style of dancing moves you.  Good luck!
