What Chicago hotel to stay at?

I'm headed to Chicago in October and want to stay at a really nice 4(ish) star hotel in the Magnificent Mile area. Hopefully one with good views and nice rooms. Any suggestions?

Check out the Hotel Monaco which is just south of the river on Wabash & Wacker meaning it's maybe two blocks at most from the south end of the Mag Mile.  It's a good location you're just south of River North where all of the restaurants and shopping are, and you're just north of the Loop where all of the museums are.

Keep in mind that October 13th is the Chicago Marathon and a lot of hotels require the runners to book that weekend (the 11th & 12th) in order to get a room.  What I'm saying is that weekend the rates are going to be through the roof.  Keep an eye on it.

Good views are hard to come by and you certainly have to pay for them when you can find one that's not blocked by a huge building...you're better off going with location if you ask me.
