  1. Chop suey, chow mein, fortune cookies,  green tea ice cream, General Tso's chicken, Many more American "Chinese" dishes.

  2. Fried rice with chicken wings and General Tso's chicken.

Ignorant people think that the take out from fast food restaurants in America is real Chinese food. NO IT IS NOT.

Authentic Chinese food is actually very different and most people probobly would not like it.

  3. none of them

thats why its called chinese food not american food

    duh

  4. The ones you wont find in china.. and the rest of the world..

Whats american chinese food like? I live in Australia.. and I've never been to america.. Do you really get them in those boxes and eat the food with chopsticks like on tv?

  5. Well, let's see.

Chop suey was invented here, and adding broccoli to moo goo gai pan first happened here also. Fortune cookies aren't Chinese; neither are ramen products, beef and broccoli nor

    almond cookes.

  6. I believe it is General Tso's (it's always spelled different) chicken.

  7. rice

  8. In the 19th century, Chinese restaurateurs developed American Chinese cuisine when they modified their food for American tastes. First catering to railroad workers, they opened restaurants in towns where Chinese food was completely unknown. These restaurant workers adapted to using local ingredients and catered to their customer's tastes. Dishes on the menu were often given numbers, and often a roll and butter was offered on the side.

In the process, chefs would invent numerous dishes such as chop suey and General Tso's Chicken. As a result, they developed a style of Chinese food not found in China. Restaurants (along with Chinese laundries which have since nearly vanished) provided an ethnic niche for small businesses at a time when Chinese were often excluded from most jobs in the wage economy by discrimination or lack of language fluency

  9. Almond Fried Chicken, I guess. It's just a fried breast portion with packaged chicken gravy poured over it.  Even my father will eat it, bless his heart.

  10. Chop Suey

    Egg Rolls

    Fortune Cookies

  11. CHOP SUEY!  The name might imply that the dish is chinese

but it's actually American. Frequently short of food, chinese immigrants working for the railroad company made do with whatever vegetables or left over meat they had and tossed it in a wok. The result was 'chop suey'! Surely an All American dish.

  12. Chop suey, "General Tso's chicken", "fortune cookies" and many other "Chinese" dishes sold in the US are all American inventions...

If you haven't already, you should read Jennifer 8 Lee's excellent book "The Fortune Cookie Chronicles" about fortune cookies, Chinese food, how much money the lottery lost when the "Big Game" started through their lack of statistical foresight... It's informative & hilarious!

  13. General tso chicken, egg fung yoo, lo mein, sesame chicken, chop suey, lobster sauce, wonton soup, fried rice, kung pao chicken, egg rolls, and fortune cookies.

I hate when people make fun of chinese eating fried rice. My mom makes fried rice with leftover rice from the previous dinner. Probably what the restaurants do too. I never actually eaten any of these foods.

A pretty special fried rice dish is pineapple fried rice. It is a Malaysian dish, not chinese.

  14. I'll take a guess...

Egg rolls or general tso's or maybe egg foo young

UMM You made me soo hungry ;)

    I want to know too....?
