What City of Chicago environmental issues you think go overlooked?

s there anything the city should focus on more? Is there anything you think needs to be researched and possibly corrected? If your city isn't Chicago, are there any issues in your particular city you'd like to see studied more as well?

The city or Gary, IN needs to be overlooked, or looked at more right?

I live in Chicago.  One issue that needs to be addressed is the need for a better mass transit system.  The "L" is antiquated at best.  With more train lines linking the different parts of the city, we'd have less traffic jams, and less air pollution problems.  

Second, just like NYC, all the taxis need to be switched to hybrid vehicles.  Hundreds of large gas-guzzling taxis drive around continuously creating smog, carbon and particulate problems.  

Third, the City needs to construct several more bike paths to encourage bike riding.  This would reduce traffic congestion, as well as, pollution.
