  1. To become an engineer (of any kind) you will need a B. Sci in Applied Sciences. Engineering is one of the hardest, 4-year bachelor's program to complete and graduate with a decent GPA. Many university's engineering program have a pre-set timetable of 5-6 classes per semester. Unless you have a dire reason to not take the pre-assembled timetable, the Faculty of Applied Sciences will grant your admission. It's best for you to do some research into the university you may wish to attend and ask whether taking the degree part-time is allowed. Hope this helps!

  2. Engineering is one of the HARDEST majors around (am currently an electrical and computer engineering major at highly reputed school)

4-5 classes are required a semester and atleast one of them has a lab component that takes up all of your day one day a week.

Thus, you will never get it done part-time.

    What are the classes?

    Here is an example: http://www.cmu.edu/esg-cat/pdf/CIT/ece.p...

  3. A typical college load is five classes per semester for full time students or 40 classes overall.  If you take two classes per semester, it will take you 20 semesters (ten years) to graduate.  I would recommend going full time.

Most universities list required courses on their web sites.  I've included a link to Berkeley's EE department.

  4. 2 classes each semester will take you about 10 years without summers, and about 6.5 years if you go through the summers.
