What Colors Should I Go With?

Hi all.

I'm having a problem choosing what colors I want for my wedding/reception.

We are having the wedding and reception at a rented pavilion on the beach. So I figured blues greens tans would go best with the ocean.

BUT...

When I picture my wedding. I'm in my pink wedding dress and have my pink white and green bouquet.

Im so torn on what to do. Usually I'm able to make decisions a whole lot easier but this is my wedding! And I just can't decide.

I know that I want a laid back wedding. Its on the beach so people will be able to go swimming. Famous Daves will be catering it. I just want people to feel like that are at a family BBQ but have some of the traditions of a wedding. I want a small cake for us to cut and cupcakes for everyone else. I also want a candy buffet. The wedding will probably be in august/september.

  1. pink and baby blue or pink and sage green go great together.  I especially like the sage green because of the green you want in the bouquets.  it will look great and be very beach like.  I would definitely do an august wedding.  it would look very summery.  there is no rules saying what are beach colours and what arent so have your wedding colours that you want and dont worry so much about it.  pink is a beach colour.  its stuff like deep red and navy blue and forest green that would look strange on a beach.

  2. If you want the pink and green then do those colors. It would look ok. Just b/c it's at the beach doesn't mean you HAVE to do blue/green/tan.

  3. A fun idea for a beach wedding can be a luao.  This way you can use fun tropical colors including pink and green.  Even if you didn't do this, pink and green would look great at the beach...you dont have to match the beach to be married there. But if you want it to be laid back/BBQ and luao can be a good idea for you.

  4. If you want pink, go for pink, otherwise you will regret it. Pink can be a totally fun color, and it doesn't matter that it is on the beach. Luaus are on the beach, and pink is a major color in leis.

  5. I think you should go with pink, not only because you've always pictured your wedding as pink, but also because since the ocean is blues, greens, and tans, it would look prettier in your pictures and such if the wedding POPS out. Matching is good sometimes, but this is your special day!

  6. Go with the colors you want.  I am getting married on the beach and my colors are pink, lavender and yellow.  It will all blend together and I think the pink will add a pop of color to the scene.  Just use bright summer colors.

  7. yeah this is my hardest choice too!

why not have the all the colors blue greens tans and pink!

  8. I think pink would go beautifully with a beach setting. I personal think that you should go with the colors that you like. My mother kept telling me that I should do darker colors for my wedding in February - but I wanted pink, so that's the color that I used.

Don't worry - it will all end up blending together nicely. You could always do a pink color with a sea green/blue-green color. That would look nice as well.

These people used shades of pink on the beach and it looked beautiful:
