  1. You can eliminate Scotland and Wales for a start.

  2. I think that you can eliminate England. Sorry!

Places like Gibraltar and The Falklands are not countries but technically part of Britain and so they cannot be counted within your question, however 'loyal' they might be.

Really, today, I think that the question should be more about 'lingering affection' for the 'old country' rather than political loyalty in a global economy. In this context, I feel that New Zealand would qualify as still having some affection for Britain.

There is obviously a difference between ordinary people and governments. Australia, Canada and other countries retain The Queen as Head of State. Is this legal status the same as loyalty?

Weirdly, when The Queen visited Germany some years ago, thousands of people turned out on her tour shouting, "Our Queen!" How do you account for that!

All countries can have their ties with tradition. It would be a pity to lose friendships. Mugabe would hardly be missed but in general the Commonwealth still has a part to play in promoting understanding, economic and cultural exchange. That's the best sort of loyalty - when peoples respect one another and try to get on well together.

  3. Probably Gibraltar or the Falklands

  4. Most commonwealth countries have their own heads of state.. so i doubt they care much about the british monarchy...

  5. I would have thought Canada & New Zealand.

  6. Really it depends on which area of people in each country you talk about IE in Canada certain areas like the queen more than others.
