G.W. just signed $162 Billion for the war in in Iraq & Afghanistan. I'm trying to find out how that compares to U.S. welfare spending. If you know where I could find this information I would appreciate it.

  1. The way our economy is now should answer your question.

  2. Welfare for the poor costs about 1.2 billion annually

Corporate welfare for rich whites cost you over 90 billion annually

The Iraq war costs you about 109 billion annually.

  3. That 162 billion dollar bill has plenty of welfare included in it.

  4. We are not at War in Iraq.

War is when you fire a bullet, kill the bad guy, and go home.

We are "nation building" in Iraq, we should have learned from Jimmy Carter's failures in South/Central America, that we don't have "nation building" capacity within our Armed Forces.

  5. Welfare and all social welfare programs are only 5% of taxes.  War, army, etc are like half of taxes.
