Hey guys, I was recently looking around about drinking and over her in the UK the legal age for drinking is 16. When I went abroad I've had around one or two small gulps of San Miguel Light (didn't find it that bad, just like carbonated water to me), so I was just wondering, what could happen to you if you drink say a pint when you're underage? I'm 14 in Febuary by the way.

  1. Just dont be anywhere around alot of people where you could run into a cop. Its illegal here to be intoxicated or drink in public. Also if your under 21 its illegal to drink period. That means any amount. So if a cop were to smell liquor on your breath he may or may not depending on how your acting just tell you to head home or arrest you if your really blitzed. As long as your not driving as well. For people over 21 if you have a blood alcohol level of .08 of above you automatically goto jail and get charged with a DUI which constitutes about 5000 dollars worth of total fines in the end. If your drinking and driving underage I know you can get your license suspended until your 21 years of age and maybe even more depending on the situation.

  2. Eh nothing bad, My bro has done it here in the states, go caught drinkin at a party, dont think much happened, just they took him to the station and my parents had to come get him at like 4 am. And tbh..i would either A (if your parents are cool that is) tell your parents about it, and theyll let u drink at your house. Or B drink with a couple friends at there house when there parents are out camping or something and tell your parents ur "spending the night and playing video games" or something along that line :P

  3. Nothing from a few small gulps at that age, I would suggest though take the build up to drinking slowly, I started having little sips at about your age then at about 15 i would have the odd half pint but nothing serious... now at 17 when i go to the pub or go out clubbing, I don't feel the need to get off my face drunk because I grew up around drinking where as a lot of my Friend's are terrible drinkers. So basically, have a little drink once in a while (not spirits which would cause harm) and in the long run, hopefully you would become a more responsible drinker. Hope thats helped... I would also add that in a pub in the UK the responsibility is to the licencer of the bar or club for serving an under age person and they would be in trouble, you may just get a bit of a telling off, nothing  serious though...
