Okay well I just bought a new horse around 2 weeks ago from one of my coaches and she said that he gets these little scabs just above his cornet band. She recomended that I put vasaline on it so that it doesnt crack up and bleed. Anyways my mom bought vasaline that was on sale for 2 for 1. So I have ALOT of vasaline that I will probably have for my whole life. Is there horseish things I can use this vasailine on?

  1. You can put it on his chestnuts (the weird scab-like things near their knee) and then they will be easier to peel off and will look more prettyful! :) Or you could rub it on the horse's nose to make it shiny.

  2. You can put it in the hollows above his heels to protect from mud rash. Around his eyes to keep flies off.On your lips to stop them from chapping. On any wound to keep flies off/dirt out etc. On any dry or flakey skin.

  3. You can use it on any cuts and scratches to help keep the skin moist so it grows hair back well, or like the other poster said, its great to rub on the muzzle and around the eyes to make their face really shiny at shows.

  4. Keep one in a first aid kit and put the other in your tack trunk or show box. It has plenty of applications in first aid, it can be used to protect scabs and soften up skin, plus you will need if if you ever need to take your horse's temperature. I also used it around my horse's lips and dock when the weather gets really dry so the areas that aren't protected with skin don't dry out and crack.

  5. well when you go to shows (if you do) you can rub vaseline around the muzzle and eyes to make it shinier and cleaner looking.....

  6. put it on your front teeth at a show to force you to smile

put it on horse's muzzle and around eyes to make it shiny

rub on any leather to make it more supple and moisturized

don't be too sure that you won't need all of that vaseline... you never know how much your horse will need that and how often. i'd say that those two tubs (if i'm thinking of the smaller size that i have) would last you for probably 2-3 years.
