What DMV book do you need to get a CDL permit?

I am trying to get a CDL permit from the DMV, is it the same book as the class C (car) license book?

Not the same book.  Ask for one for commercial drivers.

No, there is a seperate book for CDL's since there are more things you need to know. Hope you realize you need to have a vehicle for the test. You also need to point out certain points on the vehicle when testing.

ask the dmv for a commercial drivers book, in michigan , i believe you have to go to truck driving school now to get a cdl.
