What DVR is best for me?

I want to buy a dvr. I have Directv and they offer a dvr through Directv. I was wondering if there were any dvr machines out on the market that I could buy which do not require a monthly service fee?

im not sure. but idt this is what your looking for, but i LOVE dish network. it comes with dvr, and has the basic tivo sort of thing. plus it has a few extra features :] LOTS of channels and you gett to choose the channel package. it only has the tiniest problem with blinking out during storms for like 2 minutes maximum, but i still LOVE it. hope i helped and good luvk in your search!

upgrade to the directv dvr, its built in and works seamlessly, an after market tivo will have conflict issues with the program guide. directv dvr service is 5.98 /mo and tivo is around 16
